Data provision – audit service
Customs may request documentation from you during auditing or monitoring. This can be uploaded and transmitted using the Data provision – audit service.
Requirements
The Data provision – audit service is intended for companies. You will need a business customer account in the Customs Portal to make use of it. A login with a strong trust level, for example with ELSTER, is required to use the service in the Customs Portal.
You will receive a process code separately in a letter. This is needed to upload your documentation. Enter the process code into the Data provision – audit service so that your documentation can be assigned to the correct audit process. Alternatively, scan the QR code on the letter.

The code doesn’t work. What should I do?
If the code doesn’t work, please contact the Main Customs Office responsible for you and request a new code. You will find the contact details in the letter.
How large can the uploaded files be?
You can upload a maximum of 2 gigabytes (2048 megabytes) per process. One or more files may be uploaded per process.
What are the accepted file formats?
Only the following file formats can be uploaded:
- csv
- docx
- jpg
- pdf
- png
- txt
- xls
- xlsx
You cannot upload compressed files, such as ZIP files.
Is it necessary to encrypt the documentation?
No, there is no need to encrypt the documentation.
Is my uploaded data secure?
Yes, the data is secure in the Customs Portal. It is also subject to fiscal security within the customs administration.
How long will my data be stored in the Customs Portal?
Your data in the Customs Portal will be automatically deleted within seven days of being downloaded by the Audit Service.
Who will have access to my data?
Your data will be forwarded to the Main Customs Office responsible for you and handled there by the Audit Service.
