Identifying yourself with e-mail and password

To verify your identity, you need ELSTER, BundID, your online ID (identity card, electronic residence permit, eID card) or a digital signature certificate and EORI number to log in to the Customs Portal. Logging in with “e-mail and password” does not provide unique identification, so you can only use this method for individual services with lower security requirements.

Registering with e-mail and password

If you register with e-mail and password, for security reasons, you can only use the following services:

• Cash declaration (only with a citizen profile
• Data provision – Financial Control of Undeclared Work
• Deferral of enforcement

If you have stored ELSTER, BundID, your online ID or a digital signature certificate and EORI number in your profile, but have logged in only with e-mail and password, your overview will also only show messages and procedures relating to the services mentioned above.

You can use all services without restriction if you log in or register with ELSTER, BundID, your online ID card or a signature certificate and EORI number.
