Certificate registration in the local IAM (Type A)

Certificate registration in the local IAM has been possible since 22 February 2023.
Since February 2025, certificates have been registered and managed in the separate “Certificate Management for B2A” application.

User to System (U2S) access with Type A

After successfully registering with the “EU Trader Portal, CBAM Portal” service, the user can authenticate themselves on the central UUM&DS page. Select “Germany” on this page.

System to System (S2S) communication with Type A

In order to use the system-to-system communication for ICS2, economic operators must register in the “EU Trader Portal, CBAM Portal” service, as described step-by-step above.
For each system-to-system communication, the default PartyID is used with the economic operator’s EORI number.

Conformance test

In the context of the Self-Conformance Test (ICS2), economic operators can perform a conformance test in the test environment before implementing the system-to-system communication in the production environment.
For this purpose, the required certificates must be registered in the local environment for the conformance test. An additional service called “EU Trader Portal - Conformance” is available in the Customs Portal for this.
