As a private individual, you need an account with ELSTER, BundID or your Online ID for identification or to log in. You can then set up the Zoll-Ident app and use it for unrestricted login.
To use the Online ID (national identity card or electronic residence permit), the Online ID function must be activated. You can do this at the citizens office, a self-service terminal, or online.
As a company, you need an ELSTER account for identification and login. Sole traders, freelancers and registered merchants can use an ELSTER account for private individuals for this purpose. All other types of companies need an ELSTER account for an organisation.
You can then set up the Zoll-Ident app and use it for unrestricted login. For business customer accounts, only the main user needs ELSTER; all other users can activate the Zoll-Ident app with a code from the main user.
Alternatively, the users of your business customer account can also use ELSTER to log in. In this case, each user needs their own ELSTER account. You can register several ELSTER user accounts for one company. Further assistance is available at elster.de.
